This is a new style of blade for us.
While we have done two-toned blade in the past with The Falcon but we wanted something different with this blade.
That's why we've tried a weathered darker blade.
This is achieved by stonewashing.
We've done a similar blade shape with the Magpie and Crow but we wanted to go bigger, bolder, and different.

We've worked with layered G10 (Garolite) before and we love the look and feel of it - so why not use it again?
When it comes to building a tool that's tough as nails, we knew we had to go with the best of the best.

That's why we chose G10 as the material for the handle of The Bowerbird.

G10 is an absolute workhorse when it comes to outdoor and tactical use. It's renowned for its incredible durability, resistance, and strength and used in everything from circuitry, aerospace parts to firearm grips.

Here's a more in-depth reasoning behind our decision:
Hardness: G10 boasts an impressive Rockwell hardness (HRC - a way of measuring hardness), meaning it's incredibly resistant to dents, dings, and scratches. Your Bowerbird will keep its pristine look, even with heavy use.
Water Resistance: G10 is completely unaffected by moisture. It won't warp, rot, or degrade, no matter how much abuse it takes from the elements.
Unparalleled Durability: G10 is an absolute tank when it comes to impact, abrasion, and chemical resistance. This handle can take a serious beating and keep on ticking.
Tensile Strength: The high tensile strength of G10 makes it nearly impossible to pull apart, ensuring your Bowerbird stays firmly together, no matter what.
Low Maintenance: Cleaning up your Bowerbird is a breeze. G10 requires little to no upkeep, making it an effortless companion.
Chemical Resistance: From oils to solvents, G10 shrugs off harsh chemicals, making it perfect for use in tough environments.
In short, G10 is quite simply one of the toughest, most durable materials on the planet. It's tougher than Micarta, has higher tensile strength than ABS plastic, and is considered an exceptional choice for any tool that needs to stand up to serious abuse.
That's why we knew it was the perfect material to build the backbone of The Bowerbird.
With a G10 handle, you can rest assured your Bowerbird will outlast anything you throw at it.

One of the improvements we've made over our bird-themed pocket knife journey is adding an extra strong clip.
So we're making The Bowerbird with a titanium clip.
Why?
The strength and durability that titanium offers, plus it looks cool.
