The locals in the Amazon call the meanest, most aggressive ant in the jungle "Isula" (spelt with an "s"). We know it as the Bullet Ant: independent, tough, light on its feet, and a real aggressive survivor. ESEE's IZULA knife is built the same way.. mean and nasty. Designed to be the ideal survival kit, small skinner, emergency rescue, back-up or concealed carry knife. The skeletonised 1095 carbon steel handle on the IZULA includes a 1/2"/12.7mm long notched section at the spine, or "jimping", and a flat ground blade. The handle of each knife is engraved with name, logo and unique serial number. Includes a durable injection molded carry sheath. This model, IZULA-B, features a black blade and a black sheath.
Carbon Steel Care: ESEE knives made from high carbon 1095 steel will rust and stain if not properly cared for, especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly cleaned and lubricated. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor on the blade, or a light oil. Use Lock Tite or similar when assembling any hardware, such as attaching the clip plate to the sheath.

ESEE Knives and gear was created by Mike Perrin and Jeff Randall, a survivalist, adventurist, instructor and entrepreneur, first forming TransEquatorial Solutions Inc., the parent company to ESEE Knives. In 1997 Randall started his jungle survival school known as Randall's Adventure & Training, designed for military personnel and individuals needing survival and environment training. During training Randall used Peruvian Special Forces and American instructors teaching jungle survival, and from that is where ESEE Knives and gear was created. Randall's experiment into designing extreme use cutlery predates the ESEE name. Before ESEE Knives became a company of their own, Randall was the inspiration behind the RAT cutlery brand manufacture by Ontario Knife Co. When Randall ventured out into his own business, he changed the name of his knives from RAT Cutlery to ESEE Knives. Wondering where the name come from? ESEE is an acronym that describes what the training company was built around. The "ES" in ESEE stands for Escuele de Supervivencia also known as School of Survival and the "EE" stand for Escape and Evasion, which is taught to certain students of the training school. This is why it is just fitting that most of the ESEE knives are designed more towards tactical and survival use than everyday carry. Although some are relatively small, almost all ESEE knives are fixed full tang knives which gives them exceptional strength and dependability.
